The Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw (KBRI) continues to strengthen economic diplomacy to attract foreign tourists. This effort has yielded significant results through the Indonesia-Poland Tourism Business Forum 2026, which recorded transaction potential of US$7.579 million.

This figure reflects a sharp increase of 79% compared to the previous year’s achievement of US$4.233 million, signalling a positive indicator that the appeal of Indonesian tourism destinations in the Polish market remains strong despite global geopolitical dynamics.

The forum, held on 9 March 2026, brought together tourism industry stakeholders from both nations through 693 business-matching sessions. KBRI Warsaw, in cooperation with ASITA, presented 21 Indonesian industry operators (sellers), ranging from tour operators to hotel representatives from leading destinations such as Bali, Lombok, North Sumatra and Bangka Belitung.

On the other hand, 33 Polish industry operators (buyers) attended to explore tourism packages and new destination promotions. The commercial attaché of KBRI Warsaw, Agus Heryana, affirmed the government’s optimism towards this collaboration, stating: “This forum demonstrates that despite the global situation being full of challenges, Indonesian-Polish tourism cooperation maintains very strong prospects.”

The fourth forum did face challenges, particularly regarding the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, which affected the mobility of some international participants. However, the high transaction figures prove that demand from the Polish market has not diminished.

This positive trend is supported by tourist arrival data that continues to break records. In 2025, 68,100 Polish tourists visited Indonesia, representing a 62.2% increase compared to 2023 and marking the highest figure since 2017. This achievement places Poland at eighth position among the largest European contributors of tourists to the country.

In addition to the business forum, KBRI Warsaw has intensified promotion through public channels, such as digital content screening on public transportation and strengthening cultural symbols through Bali Indah Park in Slupsk. Familiarisation trip programmes are also continuously conducted to provide direct experience for Polish industry operators of Indonesia’s tourism attractions.

This aggressive approach is expected to continue increasing tourism sector contributions to the national economy and expanding the reach of the tourist market in the European region. KBRI Warsaw also brought four prominent UMKM brands: Serlium Leathers, Ittaherl, Roka Collections and Umiy Lasega Batik.
