Malang, East Java — The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Authority (TNBTS) will close all tourism activities in the Mount Bromo area during the commemoration of Yadnya Kasada from 30 May to 2 June 2026.

Head of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Authority Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha stated in Malang City, East Java, on Sunday that the decision to close Mount Bromo is part of the implementation of a circular letter issued by the Head of the Tengger Spiritual Leaders Council Number 294/E/PDP-Tengger/V/2026 regarding the 2026 Yadnya Kasada ritual ceremony.

“The closure of the Bromo area applies from 30 May 2026 at 00.00 WIB until 2 June 2026 at 23.59 WIB in connection with the Kasada ritual,” said Rudi.

The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Authority issued Announcement Letter Number PG.7/T.8/TU/HMS.01.08/B/05/2026 regarding the closure of tourism activities at Mount Bromo and its surroundings during the 2026 Yadnya Kasada ritual ceremony.

During the closure period, the mountain area, which stands at 2,329 metres above sea level, will only be accessible to community members participating in the ritual process. Additionally, the 2 June closure is intended for site cleaning activities following the Yadnya Kasada commemoration.

“The area will only be open to officials and community members with interest in participating in the site cleaning activities,” Rudi said.

Members of the public and prospective visitors will be permitted to resume access to Mount Bromo on Wednesday, 3 June, from 01.00 WIB onwards.

The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Authority encourages all members of the public and tourism service providers to comply with the established regulations whilst respecting local customs and traditions at the location.
