Total of 10 Vehicles Experience Tyre Blowouts on Jagorawi Toll Road Due to Pavement Damage
Jasa Marga has recorded 10 people as victims of a mass tyre blowout incident resulting from the condition of the road on the Jagorawi Toll Road stretch. Five of the drivers have already submitted claims.
“As of now, 10 road users have been recorded as experiencing tyre blowouts within a close time period, but only five road users have submitted claims,” said Panji Satriya, Head of the Marketing and Communication Department of the Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, when contacted on Sunday (3/5/2026).
“Meanwhile, other road users only experienced minor impacts and were immediately assisted by on-site personnel,” he added.
Panji stated that the drivers who experienced the mass tyre blowouts have been contacted. Several victims who submitted claims are still in the process of completing the required documentation.
“At present, all affected road users have been contacted by Jasa Marga personnel. And those who have submitted claims are in the stage of completing the necessary administration as part of the compensation claim process,” said Panji.
Panji added that the mass tyre blowout incident occurred due to damage to the road pavement. Currently, several damaged points have been repaired to prevent recurrence. Monitoring is also being conducted, particularly during high rainfall.
“The cause of the incident is suspected to be due to pavement damage, so Jasa Marga takes responsibility for the affected road users,” said Panji.
“Jasa Marga is committed to continuously evaluating services and taking improvement measures. All identified points have been repaired, and in the future, stricter monitoring will be carried out on all toll road lanes,” he added.
It was previously reported that several vehicles experienced tyre blowouts while passing through the Jagorawi Toll Road stretch. The incident, which subsequently went viral on social media, was caused by damage to the road surface.
In the circulating video, the incident is said to have occurred on Thursday (30/4). At that time, tow truck personnel and police were seen at the scene.
In his statement, Alvin Andituahta Singarimbun, Senior Manager of Representative Office 1 of the Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, said that his side immediately conducted checks. Jasa Marga also apologised for the incident.
“Initial reports from road users were received around 17:40 WIB. After receiving this information, personnel immediately conducted route tracing and pavement condition checks to ensure the safety and comfort of road users’ journeys,” said Alvin in his statement on Friday (1/5/2026).
