Total Gaza death toll reaches 72,938

The total death toll in Gaza has reached 72,938 as Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip continues, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Sama News Agency, as cited by IRNA on Sunday, reported that seven martyrs and 25 others were injured and taken to hospitals in Gaza over the past 48 hours. Since the ceasefire was announced on 11 October 2025, 929 people have been killed and 2,811 injured in Gaza. Additionally, 781 bodies have been successfully evacuated from under the rubble. Thus, the total death toll in Gaza since 7 October 2023 has reached 72,938, with 172,919 injured. The Israeli regime, with US support, launched a major war against Gaza’s residents on 7 October 2023. However, Israel failed to achieve its goal of destroying Hamas and returning Israeli hostages through military means, forcing it to agree to a ceasefire with Hamas. Since the ceasefire took effect, the Israeli regime has refused to implement several provisions of the agreement and continues its attacks on the Gaza Strip.
