Total eradication of Soeharto's cronies

From Rakyat Merdeka

The government of the republic of Indonesia with Abdurrahman
Wahid (or Gus Dur) as president is what I call the government of
stage III of the New Order.
1. Stage I was Soeharto's regime of 32 years which has
left catastrophe in all fields of life. The worst is the nation's
moral degradation in addition to the huge national debt.
2. Stage II was Habibie's regime of nearly two years, which
ended without any achievement. On the contrary, it "was
successful" in separating East Timor from the republic and
encouraging disintegration.
3. Stage III is the regime of Gus Dur, who shouldn't have become
the president since his accumulated number of votes in the 1999
election was small. He wouldn't have been appointed president if
the New Order's henchmen, who were afraid of Megawati ascending
the throne, had not taken special measures. Who says the current
government is a reformist government, when the whole bureaucracy
-- from governors to village chiefs -- is dominated by the New
Order people, otherwise called Soeharto's cronies. Even in the
present Cabinet, there are still many of Soeharto's men.

It's nonsense if Akbar Tanjung claims that he is not
Soeharto's henchman, and it's also nonsense that the Functional
Group (Golkar) is engaging in a new paradigm. That's a big lie;
it is aimed at enabling Golkar to maintain its domination.
Whereas, Golkar is indeed a traitor of this country, and,
therefore, should not only be disbanded but made to vanish from
Indonesian soil.

I believe the reform movement can only be carried out after 30
more years, when all of Soeharto's cronies have disappeared and
are replaced by clean people, meaning those who never received
anything from Soeharto.
