Kawasaki, Japan—(ANTARA/Business Wire)—Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (‘Toshiba’) has expanded its digital isolator portfolio with the DCL54xx01A series, a standard high-speed four-channel digital isolator for industrial equipment. The ten new products in this series are packaged in SOIC16-W packages and can operate at a maximum temperature of 125°C. Mass shipments began today.

The widespread use of silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) power devices has enabled the design of industrial equipment operating in high-temperature conditions. However, electrical interference between input and output during isolated signal transmission can cause functional disruptions, driving demand for isolation devices that ensure stable control signal transmission while offering high noise immunity and reliability.

Toshiba’s new digital isolators support a maximum operating temperature of 125°C. The company’s magnetic coupling isolation transmission technology[1] ensures a high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 150 kV/μs (typical)[2], contributing to stable equipment operation.

The new products are available in various channel configurations: four forward and zero reverse channels; three forward and one reverse channel; and two forward and two reverse channels. This flexible configuration can be selected for various applications in isolated communication interfaces within industrial automation, including I/O interfaces, motor control, and inverters.

With the launch of this new digital isolator series alongside the DCL341x0B standard digital isolator series for industrial equipment—which features low power consumption and medium communication speeds (up to 25 Mbps) in a compact SSOP16 package—Toshiba ensures customers can select the most suitable product based on their communication speed range and application requirements.
