Torrential rains destroys houses in C. Java

GROBOGAN, Central Java: Torrential rains that swept through
Grobogan regency in Central Java over the weekend tore down 39
houses and damaged 660 others.

Grobogan Regent Agus Supriyanto said on Tuesday that his
administration would provide Rp 300,000 per family in
humanitarian aid in all storm-stricken areas.

The heavy rains that reached their peak on Sunday also injured
several villagers when their houses collapsed.

Antara news agency reported that in Karanganyar, hundreds of
trees fell over, damaging 15 houses, with at least six people
hospitalized for injuries. -- Antara
