PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has recorded new contracts worth Rp 2.53 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. This achievement continues the momentum from support by bond and sukuk holders for the company’s business sustainability and transformation, while strengthening WIKA’s role in supporting national development.

In that period, WIKA’s new contracts were dominated by the construction support industry sector, particularly the Precast Industry at Rp 909.26 billion, followed by infrastructure and building sectors, as well as contributions from manufacturing, property, and investment. The acquisition of these new contracts comes from government (APBN) and private projects.

Emergency Handling Acceleration for Sibolga-Padang Sidempuan Road

In the new contracts for Q1 2026, WIKA has also been entrusted to work on the Sibolga-Padang Sidempuan National Road project valued at Rp 205.69 billion. This project aims to improve the quality of the national road network and facilitate the mobility of goods and people in the Sumatra region.

To date, the progress of the emergency handling on that stretch has reached approximately 7%, with the main focus on restoring access so that traffic can be safely traversed again. The target completion for the emergency handling is planned for December 2026, taking into account weather conditions and slope stability at the site.

WIKA’s main scope of work in this project includes several crucial tasks, among them the replacement of Garoga 2 Bridge, slope handling at the top of Goa Jepang, and handling of Box Garoga 3.

Meanwhile, the work that has been carried out includes clearing landslide material, repairing and strengthening slopes at several points, embankment and road base strengthening, installation of emergency signs, and temporary drainage repairs.

Currently, ongoing work includes slope stabilisation using the soil nailing method, construction of a temporary route (detour), preparation for installing a bailey bridge, and normalisation of drainage channels.

In its implementation, this project faces several challenges such as high rainfall that could trigger follow-up landslides, limited mobilisation access due to terrain conditions, and limitations in material sources and budget.

To address this, WIKA applies acceleration methods such as quick response, slope reinforcement (bronjong, DPT, soil nailing, and shotcrete), use of granular material for quick stability, and utilisation of steel frame bridges to accelerate access recovery at critical points.

Water Infrastructure Strengthening through the Tukka River Project

In addition, in March 2026, WIKA was also entrusted to work on the Tukka River Rehabilitation Project worth Rp 109.46 billion with a contract period until 31 December 2026. This project covers the control of Tukka River infrastructure, construction of sabodams, and sediment control of the Tukka River tributary (Sigala-Gala River).

The sabodam construction functions as a retainer and controller of sediment and debris, and is equipped with retaining wall construction to protect riverbanks from water flow erosion. This project also utilises the latest mapping technology to ensure data accuracy and accelerate work.

WIKA’s President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, stated that the acquisition of these new contracts demonstrates the sustained trust in WIKA to execute strategic projects.

“We will continue to focus on quality projects that provide added value, while supporting the government’s Asta Cita achievement for the community,” he said in his official statement on Monday (4/5/2026).

In the future, WIKA will continue to strive to develop a selective project portfolio, strengthen synergies between business lines, and drive innovation to maintain sustainable growth and high competitiveness.
