Top stories: six companies sanctioned over forest fires, Jakarta remains secure

The Ministry of Forestry has imposed sanctions on six companies holding Forest Utilisation Business Permits (PBPH) after supervision found fires in their managed areas totalling 1,511.55 hectares in Kalimantan. Director of Forestry Supervision, Administrative Sanctions and Civil Affairs at the Ministry of Forestry, Ardi Risman, said the administrative sanctions were given to four companies in West Kalimantan: PT WEL, PT FI, PT MPK and PT WSP.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has responded to a proposal to raise parking tariffs in the capital to Rp60,000 per hour. Pramono said his administration is still discussing the planned parking tariff adjustment and that no official decision has been made on the new rate.
