Top! Pertamina Sweeps a Plethora of PROPER 2025 Awards from KLH
PT Pertamina (Persero) has successfully swept awards in the Green and Gold categories of the 2025 PROPER Programme for Company Performance Rating in Environmental Management, as well as the Green Leadership 2025 award.
These awards serve as proof of Pertamina’s commitment to promoting sustainable environmental and social governance.
Minister of Environment and Forestry, who also heads the Environmental Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, stated that the PROPER awards are given as a form of appreciation for the tangible efforts of the business world in implementing good environmental governance.
Hanif believes that PROPER achievements are not only a source of pride in terms of environmental compliance for companies but also add value to their business performance.
“The purpose of this award is to recognise the efforts of business units and company leaders in applying good environmental governance principles. Companies are required to have complete environmental documents that are reported periodically, including evaluations every six months. From there, the company’s compliance level will be assessed, meaning all those documents are prepared and fulfilled properly,” he said, quoted on Monday (13/4/2026).
It is worth noting that Pertamina has achieved the most PROPER Gold awards with 14 recognitions, accounting for about 35 per cent of the total 39 national PROPER Gold awards. Pertamina also dominated the PROPER Green awards, securing 44 per cent of the total 243 national PROPER Green awards.
Notably, Pertamina’s President Director, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, also received the highest award, Green Leadership. This award recognises company leaders or CEOs who demonstrate the best performance in sustainable environmental and social governance.
Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri expressed thanks for the awards received by the Pertamina Group. Pertamina presents a ‘Beyond Energy’ strategy in leadership for green energy transition and circular economy to ensure energy resilience aligned with natural preservation.
“Our strategic steps today are the foundation for a more brilliant Indonesia. Through a spirit of togetherness, Pertamina acts as a catalyst in realising the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 that is advanced, independent, and sustainable,” said Simon.
Simon emphasised that in line with the Minister of Environment’s mandate in Decree 129 of 2025, Pertamina has recorded a threefold increase in decarbonisation. While Pertamina has successfully improved energy efficiency, it has simultaneously doubled the use of new renewable energy.
“These achievements affirm that Pertamina is at the forefront of national energy. Pertamina leads strategic initiatives by integrating cross-sector potential to accelerate the national energy transition,” revealed Simon.
