Top boxers join Jabotabek c'ships

JAKARTA (JP): Leading national boxers Hamdani Tomagola and
Herry Makawimbang, fresh from their recent Golden Gloves
victories in Ujungpandang, South Sulawesi, are set to highlight
the Atrico amateur boxing championships here from Aug. 22 to 26.

Participants of the tournament, who include some 100 pugilists
from Jakarta and its West Java buffer cities of Tangerang, Bogor
and Bekasi, will be vying for the best boxer's check of Rp
250,000 (US$115), the rookie's purse of Rp 200,000 ($92) and the
favorite boxer's prize worth Rp 150,000 ($69), all in the form of
bank savings.

The championships, held under the auspices of the Jakarta
chapter of the Indonesian amateur boxing association (Pertina),
will have 10 divisions contested ranging from junior pinweight to
middleweight.

Organizers have promised to provide life insurance for the
