PKB Condemns US-Israel Strikes on Iran that Killed Khamenei
The Central Leadership Council of the Awakening Party (DPP PKB) strongly condemned the military operation launched by the United States and its ally Israel against Iran. The military operation resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
Luluk Nur Hamidah, Head of the Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Department of DPP PKB, stated that Khamenei’s death was not only a tragedy for Iran but also a serious blow to international law and order that had been upheld together.
“The Israeli and US strikes on Iran cannot be accepted under humanitarian norms; this is a dangerous precedent for world stability,” said Luluk in a written statement on Monday, 2 March 2026.
She was of the opinion that ignoring military operations targeting the assassination of sovereign leaders would drag the global order into a system governed by military force rather than by the rule of law.
Sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno Passes Away
Former Vice President General TNI (Retired) Try Sutrisno died on Monday, 2 March 2026. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi confirmed this sad news. “Yes, we are profoundly grieved,” said Prasetyo on Monday, as quoted from Kumparan news.
The late Try Sutrisno breathed his last at Gatot Soebroto Armed Forces Central Hospital (RSPAD), Jakarta, at around 06:58 WIB. Try Sutrisno’s body will be washed at RSPAD and then brought to a funeral home at Jalan Purwakarta Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Try Sutrisno was the Vice President who accompanied President Suharto during his leadership in the period 1993-1998. This sixth Vice President was born in Surabaya, East Java, on 15 November 1935.
President Summons Ministers to Discuss Iran-US-Israel War
President Prabowo Subianto summoned several ministers to the Presidential Palace to discuss the impact of the war between Iran and Israel and the United States. Cabinet members who attended included Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia and Coordinating Minister for Food Sector Zulkifli Hasan.
Upon arriving at the Palace, Bahlil conveyed his purpose for the meeting with Prabowo. “It possibly concerns current conditions, geopolitics,” said the Golkar Party Chairman.
Specifically, Bahlil highlighted Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the conflict. According to him, the closure of this global oil supply distribution route needs to be anticipated by the Indonesian government. “Because regardless, we are still importing fuel before Eid,” he explained.
Bahlil said he would meet with the National Energy Council to discuss mitigation of the Strait of Hormuz closure. “Tomorrow I will meet with the National Energy Council, after which I will present the results of analysis and study from DEN,” he said.
