Jakarta - Latest financial reports from major banks across Southeast Asia have been officially released to the public. Amid fluctuating global economic conditions, the banking sector in the ASEAN region continues to demonstrate stable and competitive profit performance.

Intense competition is evident among banks from Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. To facilitate easier performance comparisons between nations, all net profit data has been converted to Indonesian Rupiah.

Based on compilation of net profit figures, banks from Singapore continue to consistently maintain their dominance at the top of the ASEAN rankings.

DBS Group ranks first as the bank with the largest profits in the region, recording figures of S$10.93 billion equivalent to Rp145.08 trillion.

This position is followed consecutively by OCBC and UOB in second and third place, each recording profits of Rp98.49 trillion and Rp62.38 trillion respectively.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s banking industry demonstrates robust fundamentals by dominating the upper-middle ranks. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk holds fourth position regionally whilst leading among domestic Indonesian banks with net profits of Rp57.54 trillion.

This figure is closely followed by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk in fifth and sixth positions. Both state-owned banks, which are part of 47 State-Owned Enterprise entities in Indonesia, continue to demonstrate massive financial performance contributions.

Positions seven through nine are occupied by three major Malaysian banks: Maybank, CIMB Group, and Public Bank Berhad. Tenth place is rounded out by Kasikorn Bank from Thailand.

Several entities from other nations such as Vietcombank and BIDV from Vietnam, as well as Siam Commercial Bank from Thailand, recorded solid performance although their accumulated profits have not yet broken through the top ten threshold during this period.

The following is a breakdown of the ranking of ten giant banks in ASEAN with the largest net profits. All values have been denominated in Indonesian Rupiah to present a more balanced comparison.
