Tomorrow Entering Hajj Dormitory, Hajj Pilgrims of Cluster 1 Indramayu Begin Depositing Luggage to Ministry of Hajj
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, INDRAMAYU – A total of 445 prospective Hajj pilgrims (calhaj) from Cluster 1 of Indramayu Regency at the Kertajati Embarkation will begin entering the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory on Tuesday (21 April 2026). They will subsequently be flown to the Holy Land on Wednesday (22 April 2026).
To that end, the calhaj are depositing their Hajj suitcases at the Indramayu Regency Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) Office on Monday (20 April 2026). The collection of Hajj suitcases is intended to facilitate the baggage handling process on the aircraft.
Based on observations by Republika, Hajj officials and porters are on standby at the Indramayu Regency Kemenhaj Office to receive the suitcases from the calhaj. The suitcases are then placed according to their respective groups.
The suitcases delivered by the calhaj have already been labelled with identification according to each calhaj’s name. Some have even added special markers, such as dolls or ribbons, to distinguish them and make it easier for the calhaj to locate their own suitcases.
“Yes, we’ve added special markers to make it easier to find them at the airport or hotel later,” said Iman, a family member of one calhaj.
The Head of Hajj Services Section for Indramayu Regency, Nurali, stated that all collected calhaj suitcases will be transported to the Hajj Embarkation for inspection of the carried items. This is to anticipate any prohibited items being brought onto the aircraft.
“The maximum weight limit for suitcases in aircraft baggage is 30 kilograms. Calhaj are also prohibited from carrying electrical devices, sharp weapons, and liquids that could disrupt the flight,” she said.
After leaving the Embarkation, Nurali continued, the suitcases will be sent to West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati for processing into the aircraft baggage.
Separately, the Head of the Indramayu Regency Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Office, Effendy, said that there are a total of 2,722 calhaj from Indramayu Regency for this year’s Hajj season. The thousands of calhaj are divided into nine clusters: cluster 1, cluster 10, cluster 17, cluster 21, cluster 30, cluster 31, cluster 36, cluster 38, and cluster 40.
“For cluster 1, the calhaj will enter the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory on 21 April 2026 and subsequently fly to the Holy Land on 22 April 2026,” said Effendy.
