Tomorrow, Airlangga to Lead Task Force Meeting on Plastic Prices
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the government will hold a task force (satgas) meeting for economic acceleration on Tuesday (28 April 2026), one of the agenda items being to discuss solutions to the recent rise in plastic prices that has burdened business actors.
“Tomorrow we will discuss it, a meeting with the task force team here. The National Economic Acceleration Task Force, including debottlenecking,” said Airlangga at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Jakarta, on Monday (27 April 2026).
Airlangga stated that the meeting will be conducted through the Task Force for Accelerating Government Programmes to Support Economic Growth Improvement, including involving the Debottlenecking Task Force.
Airlangga mentioned that the meeting will discuss options, including the possibility of support or stimulus for business actors impacted, particularly industries that depend on plastic raw materials.
Nevertheless, he asked all parties to wait for the results of tomorrow’s meeting to know the details of the policy plans for handling global plastic prices.
“Wait, it will only be discussed tomorrow,” he emphasised.
Previously, President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto formed the Task Force (Satgas) for Accelerating Government Programmes to Support Economic Growth Improvement.
This formation was established by Prabowo through Presidential Decree (Keppres) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 of 2026 concerning the Task Force for Accelerating Government Programmes to Support Economic Growth Improvement, which was signed on 11 March 2026.
“In order to implement the acceleration of government programmes, the Task Force for Accelerating Government Programmes to Support Economic Growth Improvement is formed, hereinafter referred to as the Task Force,” reads the content of the Presidential Decree, quoted from the JDIH Setneg website, Friday (17 April 2026).
This task force is under and accountable to the President.
The task force will be tasked with coordinating the acceleration of government programme implementation to support economic growth improvement.
Meanwhile, this task force is chaired by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.
They are assisted by three deputy chairs, namely Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, and Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy.
