Tommy, ultimatum and the reward

From Media Indonesia

The public's attention has been drawn to the police's recent success stories, such as the arrests of people related to drug- dealing, thefts of vehicles and the latest confiscation of weapons at an apartment in Pondok Indah, indicate the alleged existence of "Tommy Ibrahim's" criminal gang and their huge financial support.

There are a few things I still cannot comprehend or that remain a "mystery" to me such as the funds, Tommy's bodyguards and the ultimatum set by the police.

If it is true that each killer of the Supreme Court justice was paid Rp 100 million, then it becomes easier to estimate the huge financial power in Tommy's hands. It is impractical to use bags or briefcases to carry such large amounts every time. It is most probable that Tommy still keeps most of his money in banks and in accounts using his own name, because I think that he opened the accounts during his "reign", so no pseudonym was then necessary.

Can't these accounts and the withdrawals be traced? I believe the cash withdrawals would probably be huge amounts for his daily needs, which includes paying close to forty bodyguards as his private security personnel. Wouldn't such a crowd be an easy target of police suspicion? Can't police intelligence detect the cars they use? And why not stake out the women (once known to be) close to Tommy, who might lead to his hideout?

Regarding the ultimatum recently issued by the police, my comment is that it is a pointless and futile effort, because what's the good of an ultimatum when you can almost predict that it won't be heeded anyway. And as Tommy's residence is unknown, as stated by the police, then Tommy's "disobedience" to the ultimatum will only further embarrass the police department.

On the reward, I think it is not clear who will rightfully get it. Rather than offering rewards to anyone giving information of Tommy's whereabouts (which might lead to thousands of "informers" claiming that the addresses they have given are accurate), I suggest only those who provide specific information leading to the successful arrest of Tommy should be rightfully rewarded.
