Tommy Kurniawan says PKB's Garda Bangsa supports President Prabowo's programmes

Jakarta (ANTARA) - General Chairman of the Garda Bangsa National Coordination Council Tommy Kurniawan stated that the National Awakening Party’s (PKB) wing organisation supports President Prabowo Subianto’s programmes aimed at improving the welfare and education of the Indonesian people.

Furthermore, the member of House of Representatives Commission XI said his side also supports the continuation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which has drawn scrutiny and criticism from various quarters. He then invited the public to view the MBG programme objectively and fairly.

“This programme has been felt by millions of people, and it is truly a noble programme. I think it must be safeguarded as well as possible,” said Tommy in a confirmed statement in Jakarta, Friday.

He cited the MBG as being beneficial for his constituents in the West Java V electoral district, or Bogor Regency.

Nevertheless, he understands that there are still problems in the implementation of MBG in several regions, leading to public criticism.

“Criticism is allowed, but do not just criticise, then insult and disparage, especially creating a noisy situation and using proxies to pit the public against each other. However, it would be much better to provide solutions,” he said.

He views that if the public provides positive criticism to the government, it can serve as a vitamin to continuously improve the programme’s governance.
