Jasamarga has recorded the beginning of increased traffic volumes on several tollway sections in the Greater Jakarta and West Java regions ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri holidays, or Lebaran 2026. The increase in vehicle flow was observed on eight days before Eid, which fell on Friday, 13 March.

Based on data from Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division (JMT), the increase in vehicle traffic was evident at several major toll gates serving the airport, routes towards Merak, and the Puncak tourist area.

“In total, the volume of vehicles leaving the Greater Jakarta area through Cengkareng Toll Gate (GT), Cikupa Gate, and Ciawi 1 Gate reached 175,132 vehicles. This figure increased by approximately 0.72 per cent compared to normal traffic volumes recorded at 173,879 vehicles,” said Senior General Manager of Jasa Marga Widiyatmiko Nursejati in a written statement on Saturday, 14 March.

At Cengkareng Gate, which leads to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, 83,572 vehicles were recorded passing through. This amount increased by 1.20 per cent compared to normal traffic volumes of 82,577 vehicles.

Meanwhile, at Cikupa Gate, which provides access towards Merak, 55,520 vehicles were recorded passing through, or an increase of 6.88 per cent compared to normal traffic of 51,944 vehicles.

In contrast to the other two toll gates, vehicle traffic towards the Puncak area through Ciawi 1 Gate actually recorded a decline. The volume of vehicles passing through reached 36,040 vehicles, or a decrease of 8.43 per cent compared to normal traffic of 39,358 vehicles.

In West Java, the increase in vehicle traffic also began to be evident, particularly towards Bandung and the Rancaekek area. Overall, 76,107 vehicles were recorded passing towards these areas, an increase of 1.93 per cent compared to normal traffic volumes of 74,668 vehicles.

A fairly noticeable increase was observed at Cileunyi Gate on Padaleunyi Tollway. A total of 38,728 vehicles heading towards Rancaekek, Garut, and surrounding areas were recorded passing through this gate. This figure increased by 2.34 per cent compared to normal conditions of 37,844 vehicles.

Additionally, vehicle traffic heading towards Bandung or Jakarta through Cileunyi Gate was recorded at 32,645 vehicles, or an increase of 14.23 per cent compared to normal traffic volumes of 28,579 vehicles.

Meanwhile, at Pasteur Gate on Padaleunyi Tollway, vehicles entering Bandung were recorded at 37,379 vehicles, or an increase of 1.51 per cent compared to normal traffic of 36,824 vehicles.

The volume of vehicles exiting Bandung towards Jakarta through Pasteur Gate was recorded at 30,999 vehicles. This figure was slightly lower by 0.84 per cent compared to normal traffic of 31,261 vehicles.

“In anticipation of potential increases in traffic flow during the Eid holiday travel period, Jasa Marga urges the public to prepare their journeys well. Road users are asked to ensure their vehicles are in prime condition, drivers are fit, and to ensure adequate fuel and electronic money balance,” he said.

Additionally, tollway users are reminded to use the same electronic payment card when making transactions on closed toll systems, such as on Cipularang Tollway, Padaleunyi, and JORR II Tollway.

Jasa Marga also encourages the public to monitor current traffic information through official channels, such as the 24-hour call centre service at 14080, the official Jasamarga website, social media @official.jmmetropolitan, and the Travoy application.
