Toll Tariffs for Sinaksak-Simpang Panei Section to Take Effect 17 July 2026

PT Hutama Marga Waskita (Hamawas) will begin charging tolls on the Sinaksak-Simpang Panei segment of the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat (Kutepat) Toll Road in North Sumatra on Friday, 17 July 2026, at 07:00 WIB. The tariff imposition is based on the Minister of Public Works Decree Number 6938/KPTS/M/2026 concerning the classification of vehicle types and toll rates on the Kuala Tanjung–Tebing Tinggi–Parapat Toll Road. The Sinaksak–Simpang Panei segment has been operating without tariffs for approximately 2.5 months, during which the company conducted public education and outreach to road users and stakeholders in preparation for the toll collection. Hamawas President Director Dindin Solakhuddin stated that the tariff implementation is part of the operational phase of the Kutepat Toll Road, aimed at enhancing inter-regional connectivity in North Sumatra, particularly access to Pematang Siantar, the Lake Toba area, and other strategic locations. He expressed hope that the tariff enforcement would be accompanied by increased road user awareness in preparing for journeys, complying with driving regulations, and prioritising safety. The toll rates for the Sinaksak-Simpang Panei segment vary by origin and destination, with Gol I vehicles charged between Rp 11,000 and Rp 105,000, Gol II and III between Rp 16,500 and Rp 157,500, and Gol IV and V between Rp 22,000 and Rp 210,000. Hamawas has advised all toll road users to ensure sufficient electronic card balances and to adhere to the speed limit of 60-80 km/h, using the road shoulder only in emergencies.
