Toll road to finish by 1996

A toll road which links the Bumi Serpong Damai real estate
complex, the Bintaro Jaya area and Jakarta is slated for
completion by 1996, a spokesman said Saturday.

Johannes Tulung, spokesman for the PT Bintaro Serpong Damai
(BSD), the developer which will build the 13.1 kilometer road,
told the Jakarta Post the firm expects to complete construction
around the middle of 1996.

"It will be completed by the end of the year at the latest,"
he said.

The BSD was a joint venture between PT Bumi Serpong Damai, a
consortium of 10 developers which built the Bumi Serpong Damai
real estate, and PT Jaya Real Property which developed Bintaro
Jaya.

The construction of the toll road is scheduled to begin in
July this year, he said.

The BSD is to hold a 30-year concession over the toll road,
during which time they will share revenues with the state-owned
PT Jasa Marga toll road company, said Johannes. (jsk)
