Toll road project begins

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: Minister of Public Works Radinal
Moochtar launched the construction of another toll road in the
city on Monday.

The 10.31 kilometer road will link the Makasar Industrial Zone
with the Soekarno- Hatta Port and will be an extension of the
Tallo Lama toll road which links the city with the Hasanuddin
Airport, according to a statement by the ministry's office in
Jakarta.

The project is estimated to cost Rp 76.35 billion ($36
million) and will be built by an Indonesian consortium comprising
the state-owned Pesero Jasa Marga, PT Tujuh Wali Wali and PT
Bosowa.

Radinal said the toll road project is part of the city's
integrated economic development program. (emb)
