Toll road fare to increase?

I am very concerned with the government's plan to increase the
toll fares. I don't really know what is behind the plan. Toll
road users argue that "business" is the only reason why they are
raising toll road fares.

I am sure that the Minister of Public Works knows the
situation on the toll roads. More often than not, one takes the
toll road only to find that the traffic is congested -- no
different from ordinary roads.

The government's plan to build another lane on the Cawang-
Grogol toll road is indeed laudable. But later we are informed
that the funds needed for constructing this additional lane is
going to be collected by raising the fares. Again society has to
bear the burden of the project.

Therefore I sincerely call on the government to postpone the
plan to increase the fares of the toll roads until two or three
years later, as demanded by the House of Representatives.

Also I hope that PT Jasa Marga is honest in giving information
about the situation of the toll roads at a particular time so
that the road users can take an alternative way and avoid the
congested toll roads.
