Toll road closed for bike race

JAKARTA (JP): The state-owned highway corporation, PT Jasa
Marga, called on drivers to be alert when using the toll road
today, due to the National Games cycling contest.

Ashar Rivai, the company spokesman, announced on Saturday that
the Open Road Race will be held on the Semanggi-Cawang-Krawang-
Cikampek toll road from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Monday. "The
segments will be closed and opened according to the competition
schedule," he said.

Total closure is expected on the two-lane Karawang Barat-
Cikampek segment of the Jakarta-Cikampek tollroad from 7:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. tomorrow to make way for the Individual Time Trial
cyclists to compete.

"Drivers can still use the Jakarta-Karawang Barat segment on
that day," Rivai said.

He said while tomorrow's race from Cikampek, West Java, to
Jakarta is underway, people should enter via the Karawang Barat
toll gate. Traffic heading for Cikampek from Jakarta should also
use that gate. (sur)
