Toll Rate Discount Implementation Reduces Vehicle Volume During Eid Holiday Peak
Karawang – PT Jasa Marga has announced that the implementation of a 30 per cent toll rate discount from Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to Kalikangkung Toll Gate has reduced vehicle volume during the peak Eid holiday travel period on 18 March 2026.
Ria Marlinda Paalo, Vice President Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasa Marga Transjawa Tol, stated in Karawang on Sunday that the toll rate discount will encourage travellers to depart earlier before the peak holiday exodus period.
“This is indeed our traffic management strategy to inform all road users so they can choose the discounted rate periods, which will help reduce the anticipated congestion during the peak Eid holiday travel rush,” she said.
This is evident from the vehicle volume that passed through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on 15 March 2026, which surpassed 60,000 vehicles across all three shifts, demonstrating strong motorist participation in the toll discount programme.
“We recorded 60,000 vehicles by 15 March 2026 across all three shifts. This shows that road users’ enthusiasm for participating in the toll discount is quite good,” she added.
PT Jasa Marga implemented the toll rate discount on 15-16 March 2026 to support the 2026 Eid holiday exodus. The discount comprises two categories: a 30 per cent reduction for vehicles travelling continuously from Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to Kalikangkung Toll Gate, and approximately 46 per cent reduction for vehicles passing through continuously via Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang section.
To anticipate the surge in vehicle numbers during the 2026 Eid holiday period, PT Jasa Marga has increased toll booth capacity at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate in Karawang Regency, West Java, from the standard 15 booths to 19 booths, focused on serving vehicles heading east from Jakarta via Trans Java toll road.
“Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, which normally operates 15 booths, has been increased to 19 booths to focus on serving vehicles from Jakarta heading eastward on Trans Jawa,” said Ria.
