Toll Gates in Jakarta Inner City Closed Amid DPR RI Demonstration
PT Jasa Marga temporarily closed transactions at a number of toll gates on the Jakarta Inner-City Toll Road due to a demonstration held in front of the DPR building in Jakarta today (27/8). Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, explained that the closure of toll gates on the Inner-City Toll Road was carried out at the discretion of the police.
“Traffic from the Cililitan Toll Gate and Halim Toll Gate heading towards the Inner-City Toll Road is temporarily diverted towards Tanjung Priok. In addition, transactions were temporarily closed at a number of toll gates, namely: Cawang Toll Gate, Tebet 1 Toll Gate, Kuningan 1 Toll Gate, Senayan Toll Gate, Slipi 1 Toll Gate, Slipi 2 Toll Gate, Pejompongan Toll Gate, Angke 2 Toll Gate, Jelambar 2 Toll Gate and Tanjung Duren Toll Gate,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday (27/8).
The DPR demonstration, which initially took place around Senayan, was reported to have begun entering the Cawang-Tomang-Pluit (Inner-City) Toll Road. The crowd was observed entering the toll road via an access point around the Senayan area.
Subsequently, Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT), as the operator of the Cawang-Tomang-Pluit (Inner-City) Toll Road section, together with Jasamarga Tollroad Operator (JMTO) and the police, implemented traffic management measures to maintain the safety and smooth flow of road users.
Road users travelling from Slipi towards Cawang were asked to temporarily avoid the Inner-City Toll Road and adjust their travel routes according to traffic conditions.
Users of the Inner-City Toll Road who are planning to travel are advised to follow the instructions of officers, maintain a safe distance, and prioritise safety.
“Jasa Marga apologises for the inconvenience caused by this operational adjustment,” he said.
