The 2026 Lebaran homecoming period is approaching, with predictions indicating that the number of homebound travellers using toll roads will increase significantly, with approximately 143.9 million people anticipated to travel this year.
Before departure, it is advisable to plan your travel route carefully, including estimating fuel costs and toll tariffs. This is important to ensure that long-distance travel to one’s hometown proceeds without disruption.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, the cost of travel during the homecoming period depends on the distance travelled and the number of toll sections that will be used. In addition, homebound travellers are encouraged to prepare a sufficient electronic payment balance.
“For this reason, homebound travellers are advised to prepare sufficient electronic payment balances before entering toll roads so that homecoming travel can proceed smoothly and comfortably,” the ministry stated.
