Toll Control Becomes More Advanced: Hutama Karya Launches Command Centre and Rebrands Application
PT Hutama Karya (Persero) launched the Command Centre as an integrated traffic monitoring and control centre for all toll road sections managed by the company at HK Tower in East Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026). On that occasion, Hutama Karya also rebranded its toll road management application, previously named HK Toll, to Mozy. Hutama Karya’s President Director, Kunchoro, stated that this transformation is a response to the expanding toll road network managed by the company, especially on the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS). “We are undertaking this effort to strengthen toll road operational management to make it increasingly integrated, adaptive, and easily accessible,” Kunchoro said at HK Tower on Wednesday. One of the steps taken is the enhancement of a CCTV-based monitoring system integrated into the Command Centre. This system is a development of the Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) that has been implemented since 2019. Now, the system has been updated with a more modern display and easier access. In addition, Hutama Karya rebranded its digital toll road management application, previously known as HK Toll Apps. This rebranding aims to present a simpler and more memorable identity for the public while improving the user experience in accessing toll road services. This digital transformation is also proven relevant in facing traffic surges, especially during peak periods such as Eid homecoming and return flows. Hutama Karya recorded an increase in vehicle movements on several JTTS sections, such as Bakauheni–Palembang to Pekanbaru–Padang. Although there were accident incidents at the beginning of the period, the fatality rate during the homecoming and return flow period showed a significant decline. This indicates that the strengthening of the monitoring and traffic management system is beginning to have a positive impact. Nevertheless, future challenges will be even greater. The Bakauheni to Medan section is projected to become a corridor with high traffic density. Therefore, Hutama Karya assesses that early preparedness is needed in monitoring systems and operational management. “In the future, we must ensure that the monitoring system runs optimally because the potential for congestion will be even greater as traffic increases,” Kunchoro said. Hutama Karya’s Director of Operations III, Iwan Hermawan, explained that the Command Centre is designed as an integrated control centre capable of comprehensively and directly monitoring all aspects of toll road operations, from transaction gates, CCTV, communication networks, to fibre optic systems.
