Tok! Jakarta LRT Route Velodrome–Manggarai Extended to Dukuh Atas
Jakarta’s Provincial Government has decided, after taking into account input, suggestions, considerations, and the region’s fiscal capacity, to extend the LRT line from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas so that the Velodrome–Manggarai–Dukuh Atas route is connected in full, Pramono said at City Hall, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026). The length of the LRT track will increase from 12.2 kilometres to 14.2 kilometres, and the number of stations will rise to 12. There will also be an addition to investment of around Rp 2.7 trillion, he added. The extension prioritises Dukuh Atas to ensure the route truly ends at a major transport hub.
Why was this decision made from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas? So that the route can be completed thoroughly. Meanwhile, plans to develop the LRT northwards towards the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Ancol, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport have not been prioritised at this time. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will complete the route up to Ancol before continuing to the next areas. “From Velodrome, JIS, Ancol, then later to PIK 2 and Soekarno-Hatta, the route and track will be completed first. For now, it ends at Ancol,” Pramono said.
He also asked the new Head of the DKI Jakarta Department of Transportation, Budi Awaluddin, to promptly prepare the extension from Ancol to PIK 2 and then to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. He noted that intermodal connectivity would be stronger if all lines connect with the MRT network along the Balaraja-Cikarang corridor in the future. “If that can be done, all loops and the north-south and central lines that will host an MRT from Balaraja-Cikarang will improve Jakarta’s connectivity,” he concluded.
