Together with Danantara, BRI Strengthens Grassroots Economy Through This Programme
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, continues to strengthen its role in promoting the sustainable empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). As part of Danantara Indonesia, BRI continues to support the strengthening of the national economy through various empowerment programmes that not only have an economic impact but also provide tangible social benefits for the community.
BRI’s commitment to strengthening the MSME ecosystem is also reflected in its sustainable financing disbursement. By the end of the first quarter of 2026, BRI’s MSME loan portfolio reached approximately Rp1,211 trillion, making BRI the bank with the largest MSME loan portfolio in Indonesia.
This achievement underscores BRI’s consistency as a bank focused on MSME empowerment, while ensuring that business actors not only gain access to financing but also receive mentoring to improve productivity, expand markets, and grow sustainably. In addition to financing, various empowerment programmes continue to be optimised as part of BRI’s strategy to promote the grassroots economy while supporting Danantara’s agenda of building inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
As of June 2026, the Desa BRILiaN programme has reached more than 5,000 villages across Indonesia as an effort to strengthen village economies. In addition, through the KlasterkuHidupku programme, BRI has developed more than 43,337 business clusters to build productive community-based business ecosystems.
On the digital side, BRI has introduced the LinkUMKM platform as a collaborative space that connects MSMEs with markets, business partners, and various financial services. As of June 2026, the platform has been used by more than 17.3 million MSMEs to expand market access, improve business capacity, and accelerate business development towards more productive and competitive enterprises.
Meanwhile, capacity building for business actors is also carried out through 54 Rumah BUMN facilities spread across various regions. Through these facilities, BRI has organised more than 18,000 training sessions, with the number of registered MSMEs reaching 596,000, as part of its commitment to improving the competitiveness of MSMEs in various sectors.
BRI’s Director of Micro Business, Akhmad Purwakajaya, said that the various empowerment programmes are a manifestation of BRI’s commitment to supporting Danantara in creating sustainable and inclusive growth.
“Under the supervision of Danantara Indonesia, BRI continues to carry out its strategic role in accelerating the national economy through the disbursement of financing to productive sectors, particularly MSMEs. We believe that empowerment is the key so that business actors not only have access to financing but are also able to improve capacity, expand markets, move up the value chain, and make an increasingly greater contribution to national economic growth,” said Akhmad in an official statement on Wednesday (12/8/2026).
Through an integrated approach between empowerment and financing, BRI continues to strengthen a resilient and competitive MSME ecosystem. This step is in line with Danantara’s commitment to delivering impact investment and encouraging the creation of sustainable economic and social added value for Indonesia.
