Toddlers die in Medan fire

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Two toddlers died in a fire early
yesterday morning in which four houses were destroyed on Jl.
Sutomo Ujung.

Capt. R. Haryono of the Medan Police said the cause of the
fire was still under investigation.

As reported by Antara, the two children, Albar, 5, and
Hidayat, 3, were left alone in their house by their mother, Ida
Hasibuan.

Ida had to take her eldest son, Mawardi, 7, to school and left
the two toddlers alone in the house with the front door bolted.

When the fire broke out, neighbors thought the house was empty
because they saw the front door locked. (mds)
