Today's campaign schedule for contesting parties
JAKARTA (JP): Golkar will be dominating Java provinces, Maluku and Irian Jaya in the fourth day of campaigns today, while the United Development Party (PPP) will be holding its public assemblies in Sumatra provinces, Bali, West and East Nusa Tenggara and East Timor.
The Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) will campaign in provinces in Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
In Jakarta, Golkar's campaigning will be concentrated in several subdistricts across the city.
Members of Golkar's board of patrons, which mainly consists of cabinet ministers, will join in the campaign which is expected to involve dialogs between campaigners and the people.
Coordinating Minister for Production and Distribution Hartarto will be campaigning in the subdistrict of Cibubur, East Jakarta while Coordinating Minister for Political Affairs and Security Soesilo Soedarman will be in Ragunan, South Jakarta.
Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Azwar Anas will campaign in Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta; State Minister of National Development Planning Ginandjar Kartasasmita will be in Semper Barat, North Jakarta; and State Minister of Research and Technology B.J. Habibie will be in Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
Minister of Education and Culture Wardiman Djojonegoro will meet the masses in Kelapa Gading Timur, North Jakarta; Minister of Transportation Haryanto Dhanutirto will be in Pancoran, South Jakarta; and Minister of Justice Oetojo Oesman, will be in Pondok Pinang, South Jakarta.
Minister of Manpower Abdul Latief will have a dialog with the public in Rawa Terate, East Jakarta; Minister of Cooperatives and Small Enterprises Subiakto Tjakrawerdaya will be in Senen, Central Jakarta; State Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Hayono Isman will be in Gandaria Selatan, South Jakarta.
State Minister of Women's Roles Mien Sugandhi will address the assembly in Gelora, Central Jakarta; Minister of Social Services Inten Suweno will be in Ciganjur, South Jakarta; and Minister of Finance Mar'ie Muhammad will be in Bungur, Central Jakarta.
Other senior members of Golkar, including former vice president Sudharmono and former Jakarta governor Tjokropranolo will also meet with the public in Jakarta today.
Members of Golkar's executive board who will be campaigning include deputy chief Agung Laksono, businessman Sudwikatmono, scholar Qurais Shihab, businesswoman Hartati Murdaya, ulema Ali Yafie and dangdut singer Rhoma Irama. (pwn)
