Today, the indictment hearing in the Andrie Yunus assault case
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Military Court II-08 in Jakarta is scheduled to hold the inaugural hearing with the agenda of reading the indictment in the alleged assault case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus today, Wednesday.
“Correct, there is no change; the hearing will proceed,” said Spokesperson for the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Endah Wulandari, when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Based on the Case Search Information System (SIPP) of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, the hearing falls under the category of criminal acts against the body intentionally or due to negligence, with case number 70-K/PM.II-08/AL/IV/2026.
The first hearing is scheduled for the morning around 10:00 WIB in the Garuda Courtroom or the main courtroom.
In the trial, the defendants will be presented directly in the courtroom.
Endah assured that the trial process will be conducted professionally, independently, impartially, transparently, and accountably.
“10:00 WIB. The defendants will be present at the hearing,” Endah stated.
In this case, there are four military members who have been designated as defendants. They consist of three officers and one non-commissioned officer, namely Captain NDP, First Lieutenant (Lettu) BHW, Lettu SL, and Second Sergeant (Serda) ES.
According to the SIPP, the defendants are charged with layered or subsidiary indictments.
For the primary indictment, the defendants are charged under Article 469 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023, with a maximum penalty of 12 years’ imprisonment.
Then, the subsidiary indictment applies Article 448 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023, with a maximum penalty of eight years’ imprisonment.
Meanwhile, the more subsidiary indictment uses Article 467 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023, with a maximum sentence of seven years’ imprisonment.
