Today, President Prabowo Invites Islamic Organisations and Pondok Pesantren Leaders to Iftar at the Palace

President Prabowo Subianto will hold an iftar with Islamic organisations (ormas) and pondok pesantren (ponpes) leaders on Thursday, 5 March, in the central courtyard of the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta. The event has been confirmed by Amirsyah Tambunan, Secretary General of the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI). He said attendees from MUI will include the Chairman Anwar Iskandar, the Secretary General, and three Vice-Chairmen: ‘The attendees will be the Chairman, the Secretary General, and the vice chairmen of MUI,’ Amirsyah told reporters when contacted. Previously, Prabowo invited a number of ulama to the Palace on 4 February 2026; one topic discussed then was Indonesia’s potential joining of the Board of Peace (BOP). In addition, the President has invited former presidents and vice presidents on Monday, 2 March 2026, to discuss the escalation of the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. Lions Nusantara Group, a technology group in the Internet and Financial sectors, held an iftar at Delicae, Senayan City, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March. In the spirit of Ramadan, Jakarta Infrastruktur Propertindo (JIP) organised a social activity titled Berbagi Tanpa Batas (Sharing Without Limits). The Central Board of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (DPP KNPI) held an iftar at its Secretariat, Rasuna Said Street, Kuningan, Jakarta, on Saturday 28 February. Preparing a fashionable yet modest outfit of the day (OOTD) for some of these iftar gatherings has become important to present a confident image. HokBen, in collaboration with PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI), organised an iftar for more than 4,500 orphans and the underprivileged.
