Today, Delpedro Marhaen, executive director of Lokataru Foundation, and three colleagues are scheduled to undergo a verdict-reading session at the Central Jakarta District Court on Friday, 6 March 2026. The hearing relates to a case of alleged incitement during the August 2025 demonstrations that ended in chaos.

In addition to Delpedro, the other defendants to hear the panel of judges’ verdict at today’s hearing are Lokataru staff Muzaffar Salim, Gejayan Memanggil admin Syahdan Husein, and Aliansi Mahasiswa Penggugat admin Khariq Anhar.

The hearing is due to begin at 14:00 WIB and will be presided over by Chief Judge Harika Nova Yeri.

Previously, the four defendants were indicted with a two-year prison sentence. The Prosecutor’s Office believes the defendants acted publicly, both orally and in writing, to incite people to commit violence or to oppose public authorities.

Delpedro and colleagues were charged with uploading at least 80 collaborative posts on social media between 24 and 29 August 2025. The posts were deemed to be inciting and aimed at provoking hostility toward the government.

In the indictment, the prosecution noted that the social media posts managed by the defendants contained calls for students to participate in actions that ended in rioting. The narratives are strongly suspected to have involved minors in anarchic acts in front of the DPR RI Building, Polda Metro Jaya, and several other locations.

One piece of evidence cited in the indictment is a poster titled ‘Legal assistance for students: You students who join the demonstrations? Do not fear intimidation or criminalisation; contact us immediately.’

The defendants face penalties under Article 76(H) in conjunction with Article 15 in conjunction with Article 87 of Law No. 35 of 2014 on the Protection of Children as amended and supplemented by Law No. 23 of 2002 and Article 28(2) or Article 28(3) in conjunction with Article 45A(2) of Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions as amended and supplemented by Law No. 1 of 2024 in conjunction with Article 55(1) 1 in conjunction with Article 160 of the Penal Code.

Laras Faizati’s counsel has requested that Bareskrim Polri apply a restorative justice approach to the alleged incitement case relating to the arson of Mabes Polri.

Laras Faizati’s mother hopes the legal process against her daughter will be halted. Laras has been named a suspect in the alleged incitement to burn Mabes Polri.

Laras Faizati submitted a request for detention suspension to Bareskrim Polri after being named a suspect for incitement to burn down the Mabes Polri building.

The South Jakarta District Court imposed a supervisory sentence on Laras Faizati in the post-August 2025 protest incitement case and ordered her release from detention.
