TOD Housing in Kiaracondong Accelerated, Completion Targeted for 25 April 2026
JAKARTA - The concept for developing housing based on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) in the Kiaracondong area of Bandung City is targeted for completion on 25 April 2026.
Minister for Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait stated that a joint team will soon work on preparing the development concept for the area.
“We will implement it as quickly as possible. On 25 April, the concept will be presented, and then we hope it can proceed immediately to the next stage,” she said, quoted from an official statement on Tuesday (07/04/2026).
Ara, as the PKP Minister is known, explained that the location is considered strategic because it is in a public transport area and has potential to be developed into integrated housing.
“This 6,000 square metre land will immediately form a joint team between the Ministry of PKP, KAI, the Regional Secretary, and the Bandung City Government,” she said.
Ara explained that TOD-based area development not only provides housing but also supporting facilities in one integrated area.
“As stated, there will be housing, healthcare facilities, education, places of worship, and other supporting facilities. This is a truly integrated area prepared for the community,” she clarified.
“So far, there has been no TOD based on a railway area like this in Bandung. We will start from here. We will find the best financing scheme and implement it as quickly as possible,” she emphasised.
To accelerate realisation, the Ministry of PKP is opening opportunities for financing through various collaborative schemes, including support from the private sector and corporate social responsibility programmes.
“Do not doubt Indonesia’s potential. We will create various financing schemes, including CSR support from companies. Like yesterday, there was a commitment from Astra to build 1,000 flats. We will also open opportunities for support from other companies or foundations,” said Ara.
“This TOD concept is an integrated area, with residential zones, business areas, and public facilities. The number of units is still being calculated and will be optimised according to the land’s potential,” explained Bobby.
This review is part of the Ministry of PKP’s efforts together with KAI and the West Java Provincial Government in promoting the provision of decent housing integrated with public transport as well as supporting more efficient and sustainable urban area development.
