The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) is continuing its investigation into alleged transfer-pricing corruption. Investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) have named AL, a director of PT Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL), as an additional suspect.

The pulp and forest-management company has itself been named a corporate suspect in the case, which is alleged to have caused total state losses of Rp2 trillion.

Anang Supriatna, head of the Attorney General’s Office’s Legal Information Centre, said AL was named a suspect on Friday (16 October 2026). “Since being named a suspect, AL has been detained at the Salemba Detention Centre, Attorney General’s Office branch,” Anang said in Jakarta on Monday (19 October 2026).

Before AL was detained, Jampidsus investigators had named Toba Pulp Lestari a corporate suspect the previous month.

At the start of the investigation, the Jampidsus team also named two officials from the tax service, BR and SR, as suspects. They have been charged under Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20(a) or (c) of the Criminal Code and Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law, as well as Article 604 in conjunction with Article 20(a) or (c) of the Criminal Code and Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law.

Anang said AL was named a suspect not only in his capacity as a director but also as company secretary of PT Toba Pulp Lestari.

Case details

Anang explained that the case began with PT IIU, established in 1983. In 2001, the company changed its name to PT Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL). It operates in pulp processing and forest-product processing.

In his roles as director and company secretary, AL was involved in TPL’s export sales of pulp to DP MMI Ltd and domestic sales to APR’s factory.
