To Support Refinery Operational Reliability, Pertamina Patra Niaga Strengthens Cooperation with MEPS
Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening its cooperation to secure gas supply in order to support national energy resilience through reliable refinery operations.
One aspect of this is the signing of a Key Terms Sheet for a Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement with PT Medco E&P Sakakemang B.V., sourced from the Sakakemang Work Area. The gas is expected to support the operational needs of the Dumai Refinery and/or Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Plaju Refinery.
President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, said the collaboration forms part of the company’s efforts to safeguard the sustainability of energy supply for Pertamina Patra Niaga’s operations, particularly to support the energy processing at the refineries.
“This collaboration is part of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s commitment to ensuring energy needs for refinery operations are met reliably and sustainably. Through the gas supply support from Medco E&P Sakakemang B.V, we hope this synergy can strengthen the national energy supply chain and maintain national energy resilience in the long term,” Mars Ega said in a statement on Saturday, 23 May 2026.
The signing took place during The Indonesian Petroleum Association Convention and Exhibition (IPA Convex) 2026 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on Wednesday (20/5). The agreement was signed by Pertamina Patra Niaga’s President Director, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, together with the Director of PT Medco E&P Sakakemang B.V., Ronald Gunawan, and witnessed by the Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto.
Through this cooperation, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strengthen its role as Pertamina’s Downstream Subholding in ensuring an integrated, reliable energy supply capable of supporting long-term operational needs.
