To Strengthen Targeted Subsidy Distribution, Pertamina Patra Niaga Enhances QR Code Services in East Java
Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to ensuring the reliability of energy supply for the public. One of the efforts undertaken is through periodic evaluation and updating of consumer data to ensure that the distribution of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) is increasingly targeted and easily accessible.
This is being implemented by Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Regional Jatimbalinus office, which has received and accommodated aspirations from truck driver groups regarding the implementation of barcodes in the Subsidi Tepat programme. In the meeting, the drivers conveyed various inputs, ranging from on-site technical issues to hopes that this policy can run more effectively without hindering goods distribution activities.
Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, explained that data updating is a strategic step to ensure that the use of QR codes and subsidised BBM quotas aligns with valid vehicle ownership.
The implementation of QR codes in the Subsidi Tepat programme is a government policy to ensure the targeted distribution of subsidised BBM, both Biosolar and Pertalite, and its use by entitled parties. In this regard, Pertamina acts as the distributor in accordance with the government’s assignment.
Ahad also added that the actions taken by the drivers represent the conveyance of aspirations and attention from customers. Pertamina views this positively and is committed to continuing to listen and follow up on every input provided, by presenting solutions within its authority to enhance service quality for all customers.
Regarding QR codes that experience issues or cannot be used for transactions, the system periodically monitors registered vehicle data and QR code usage patterns at fuel stations (SPBU). The system also detects transaction anomalies, such as large-volume refuelling in close proximity or refuelling at multiple different SPBUs in a short time. Such conditions may indicate misuse of QR codes by unauthorised parties, thus requiring a re-verification process.
To serve the needs of truck drivers facing QR code issues during transactions, Pertamina has opened 147 helpdesks across East Java. This step aims to accelerate the re-verification process and reactivate QR codes so they can be used for purchasing subsidised BBM.
