PT Pertamina (Persero) is urging citizens who possess QR codes for subsidised fuel via the MyPertamina application not to share this data with others when refuelling, in order to prevent misuse.

The Acting Area Manager of Communication Relation & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, Okky Aditya W, stated in Kendari on Thursday that this advisory follows complaints from residents in Kendari who suspected their barcode data was being used by others at Gas Stations (SPBU).

“Pertamina urges the public not to provide their ‘Subsidi Tepat’ barcodes to anyone, so that the barcodes are not used for unintended purposes,” he said.

He also requested that MyPertamina users reset and update their ‘Subsidi Tepat’ QR codes after refuelling with Pertalite at petrol stations, ensuring that any previously leaked data can no longer be utilised.

“A new barcode will then appear, which can be used again for the purchase of ‘Subsidi Tepat’ fuel,” Okky added.

Previously, a video emerged of a resident named Atika Harli protesting against a petrol station operator in Mataiwoi, Wua-Wua District, Kendari, on Wednesday (30/9). She protested because her QR code data was being used by others to purchase subsidised fuel, noting that her application data had even been used an hour before her arrival at the station.
