Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is conducting monitoring of business actors, from hotels to cafes and restaurants, to prevent the improper use of subsidised LPG.

“This monitoring involves the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Office (PPKUKM) and other related agencies,” said Special Staff to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Public Communications, Chico Hakim, in Jakarta on Friday.

The monitoring, he said, is being carried out following the price increases for 12 kg and 5.5 kg LPG.

As is known, the current price of 12 kg LPG in Jakarta has risen by Rp36,000, from Rp192,000 to Rp228,000 per cylinder, while 5.5 kg LPG has increased by Rp17,000, from Rp90,000 to Rp107,000 per cylinder. This increase applies from 18 April 2026.

Nevertheless, Chico added, the DKI Provincial Government is also ensuring that stocks of non-subsidised LPG remain safe and available in the market.

“In this geopolitical situation and as it has not yet been resolved up to today regarding the supply chain and also fuel, the DKI Jakarta Government will specifically monitor matters related to fuel and 3 kg LPG,” said Pramono.

According to him, the need for fuel and 3 kg LPG is very high in the capital.

Therefore, Pramono admitted that he does not want the handling of issues related to fuel and 3 kg LPG to be delayed. He also asked all his subordinates to monitor the availability of fuel and 3 kg LPG.
