To Prevent Accidents, KAI Madiun Intensifies Education at Level Crossings
Madiun (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 7 Madiun continues to conduct socialisation on train travel safety at level crossings to minimise the risk of accidents involving road users and trains. Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 7 Madiun, Tohari, in Madiun, East Java, on Thursday stated that safety is an aspect that knows no time limits. Although the operations of the Eid Transport Post for 2026 were officially closed on Monday (30/3), supervision and education at vulnerable points remain the primary priority. “KAI’s commitment to the safety and security of train travel and the public continues, even after Eid transport has ended. We want to ensure that every train journey and road user remains smooth and safe,” said Tohari. According to him, safety at level crossings is in accordance with Law No. 23 of 2007 on Railways, Article 124, which stipulates that at level crossings, road users must prioritise train travel. Socialisation activities are carried out, among others, at three points of crossings with traffic flow, namely JPL 106 (Km 132+5/6) in the Bagor-Saradan section, Wilangan Village, Wilangan Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency; then JPL 104 (Km 127+2/3) in the Bagor-Saradan section, Ngudikan Village, Wilangan Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency; and JPL 115 (Km 147+2/3) in the Caruban-Saradan section, Bungkus Hamlet, Kaligunting Village, Mejayan Subdistrict, Madiun Regency. KAI also continues to campaign the #BERTEMAN (Stop, Look Left and Right, Ensure Safe, Then Proceed) movement. This movement is a simple yet crucial preventive step for road users before crossing the tracks.
