To Pasuruan, Gus Ipul Enjoys the Beauty of the Night Under the Madinah Umbrellas
Social Minister (Mensos), Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), took advantage of the Eid silaturahmi momentum to enjoy the night atmosphere in the Payung Madinah area, Alun-Alun, Pasuruan City on Saturday (28/3) night.
From the second floor of a cafe near Pasuruan City Grand Mosque, Gus Ipul appeared to sit relaxed with Pasuruan Mayor, Adi Wibowo. They enjoyed the panorama of Payung Madinah, which has become an icon of Pasuruan City, as well as the increasingly well-arranged town square atmosphere. Gus Ipul also appeared to walk under the Madinah umbrellas while discussing with Adi Wibowo.
The Payung Madinah and the arrangement of the town square area itself is one of the legacies of development during Gus Ipul’s tenure as Pasuruan Mayor some time ago. Gus Ipul admitted he was happy to see the development of the city he once led.
“Alhamdulillah, today I could meet Mas Adi Wibowo, Pasuruan Mayor. I am pleased, happy. Pasuruan City is becoming more beautiful and better,” said Gus Ipul in his statement on Sunday (29/3/2026).
He described the atmosphere around Payung Madinah, located in front of Pasuruan City Grand Mosque, as reflecting the city’s continuous development.
“In front of the Grand Mosque, which has a long history, there is the town square. Behind it is the tomb of KH Abdul Hamid. This becomes a very meaningful area,” he said.
According to him, improving infrastructure must be accompanied by enhancements in cleanliness and public order. He hopes various city corners can become comfortable public spaces for everyone.
“What I see today is a reflection of Pasuruan City’s future. Its infrastructure is getting better, the city is cleaner, the community is more orderly. City corners become comfortable places for all,” he stated.
Gus Ipul also mentioned several other icons in Pasuruan City, including the Krampyangan area which has a mosque with a distinctive style.
“In Krampyangan there is the distinctive Pasuruan City Mekah Mosque. This is the result of collaboration from many parties to bring a religious atmosphere as well as city aesthetics,” he added.
Meanwhile, Adi Wibowo stated that the existence of Payung Madinah and the town square arrangement is part of Gus Ipul’s leadership legacy.
“This is one of Gus Ipul’s legacies when he was Pasuruan Mayor. Alhamdulillah, he still monitors the city’s development. Insya Allah, we will continue to support each other for a better future for Pasuruan City,” he revealed.
