Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has shared the outcomes of his meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev in Moscow. The discussion serves as a follow-up to the talks between President Prabowo Subianto and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace on Monday (13/4/2026).

The bilateral meeting emphasised efforts to ensure national energy availability amid global dynamics. According to Bahlil, the meeting covered cooperation on energy supplies and investments.

“Today, I have just concluded a bilateral meeting with the Russian Energy Minister as a follow-up to the agreement from the discussions between President Prabowo and President Putin. Alhamdulillah, we have obtained quite positive results, where we can increase our crude reserves. In addition, we will also be able to obtain LPG,” said Bahlil in a press release in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

According to him, Russia has expressed readiness to support Indonesia’s energy needs, including supplies of crude oil and natural gas, such as LPG, as well as the development of storage facilities. Several Russian energy companies participated in the forum, including Rosneft, Ruschem, Zarubezhneft, and Lukoil.

Their presence strengthens the commitment of the business sector to support the realisation of energy supply cooperation. “We want all of this to truly provide certainty for national energy resilience,” stated Bahlil.

He explained that the cooperation scheme will be implemented through a government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B) approach. Thus, it not only guarantees supplies but also opens broader investment opportunities in the energy sector.
