To forgive but not to forget

With reference to your editorial on Aug. 9, 1999, I would like to underline your comment.

I am one of the many victims of Soeharto's false testimonies. I am prepared, with God's help, to forgive Soeharto for his brutal policies, and I have no ill feelings anymore.

On the other hand, it is difficult to forget that Soeharto has put me for 30 years in jail with false accusations.
