To Ease Return Traffic Congestion, Contraflow on Japek Toll Road Expanded to 2 Lanes
PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) together with the police continues to implement traffic engineering in the form of a contraflow scheme to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) segment on Friday (27/3). Previously, contraflow was only applied to one lane, but it has now been expanded to two lanes due to the continuously increasing number of vehicles passing through. “At the discretion of the Police, the contraflow traffic engineering, which was previously applied to 1 lane, has been extended to 2 lanes on the segment from KM 70 to KM 47 towards Jakarta at 18.05 WIB,” said Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in her statement. “This adjustment is made to maintain the smooth flow of traffic that has experienced a significant increase from the direction of Trans Java towards Jakarta,” she added. In addition, situational traffic diversions are being carried out by directing some vehicles to exit through the Karawang Barat Toll Gate (GT) at KM 47 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. Ria stated that this step aims to reduce density on the main route and speed up vehicle distribution. “JTT together with the Police continues to conduct intensive monitoring and make situational adjustments to traffic engineering to ensure that the return flow runs smoothly and safely,” she said. Ria conveyed that JTT has also deployed operational staff in the field to regulate traffic, assist road users, and ensure the safety and comfort of the journey. Traffic condition monitoring, she said, is carried out in real time through CCTV integrated with the information control centre. “JTT urges all road users to plan their travel time well, comply with signs and instructions from officers in the field, and ensure that vehicles are in prime condition and electronic money balances are sufficient before travelling,” she concluded.
