JAKARTA - The surge in vehicle volume during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H homecoming flow is beginning to impact critical points along the Trans-Java route. To maintain smooth traffic flow, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) along with the police has officially implemented an open-close system for access to the Rest Area at KM 57A towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section, on Sunday (22/3/2026). This situational step is taken as a form of anticipation against the potential build-up of vehicles entering and exiting the rest area, which often triggers congestion extending to the main toll route. The primary focus of officers is to ensure that the flow of vehicles heading to eastern regions remains unimpeded without long queues on the road shoulder. “The open-close regulation for access to Rest Area KM 57A is carried out situationally. This is important to anticipate bottlenecks that could potentially disrupt the smooth flow on the main route,” explained Ria. To avoid build-up at one point, JTT urges homecoming travellers to wisely choose rest locations. Even distribution of vehicles across various rest points is believed to significantly reduce the density ratio on the toll road, making the homecoming journey safe and comfortable.
