To Ease Congestion, Contraflow on Japek Toll Road Expanded to 3 Lanes from KM 48-66

Police and PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) have added a lane to the contraflow, increasing it from the previous two lanes to three lanes on KM 48 to KM 66 in the Cikampek direction on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Thursday (19/3) at 12:21 WIB. This step was taken to ease vehicle density and support the smooth flow of mudik traffic towards the eastern Trans Java regions. VP Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that the adjustment in the number of contraflow lanes was carried out situationally, considering the on-the-ground traffic conditions. “The expansion of the contraflow to three lanes is part of the anticipatory measures taken together with the Police to maintain smooth traffic flow towards the eastern Trans Java direction, especially today when there is a visible increase in public mobility ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026,” said Ria in a written statement. Ria conveyed that JTT, along with the police and related parties, continues to intensively monitor traffic conditions and deploy personnel on the ground to ensure that traffic engineering runs safely and smoothly. “JTT urges all road users to always drive carefully, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and follow the instructions of on-site personnel and installed traffic signs,” she added. Previously, heavy traffic occurred on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section on Thursday morning. Citing monitoring from TMC Polda Metro Jaya via its official X account at 09:19 WIB, the current traffic situation around the Japek Toll Road KM19 East Bekasi from Jakarta to Cikampek on the lower lane was observed to be busy tending towards dense.
