To Commemorate Nyepi Day 2026, BRI Peduli Distributes 2,000 Staple Food Packages to Villagers in Bali

Jakarta (ANTARA) – To commemorate Nyepi Day (Saka New Year 1948), which falls on Thursday, 19 March 2026, BRI through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity BRI Peduli has distributed aid in the form of 2,000 staple food packages to the Hindu community in Desa Angseri, Baturiti Subdistrict, Tabanan Regency, as well as in Desa Sarimekar, Buleleng Subdistrict, Buleleng Regency, Bali. Each staple food package provided consists of 10 kg of rice, cooking oil, granulated sugar, and various other basic needs. The aid was handed over directly to the community at the Angseri Village Hall and the Sarimekar Village Banjar Hall as a tangible form of care for the community’s needs ahead of the Nyepi Day celebration. BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny stated that the distribution of staple food aid through the BRI Peduli programme is a manifestation of the company’s commitment to carrying out social responsibility while strengthening relations with the community, especially the Hindu community. “The distribution of this staple food aid is part of BRI’s commitment to continue providing real benefits to the community while strengthening the spirit of sharing during Nyepi Day. We hope this aid can help the community in Desa Angseri and Desa Sarimekar,” he said. Dhanny added that as part of Danantara, BRI aims to support the creation of sustainable community welfare. Through various CSR programmes, BRI continues to strive to provide real positive impacts, especially for communities in areas that need it. Head of Desa Angseri Nyoman Warnata expressed his appreciation for the attention and aid given by BRI Peduli. According to him, the aid is very helpful for the community in meeting basic needs, especially ahead of Nyepi Day, which is synonymous with increased household needs. “We, the people of Desa Angseri, feel very helped, where this aid certainly lightens our community’s burden. We hope this synergy continues to be established between the people of Desa Angseri and BRI,” he said. The same sentiment is felt by the people of Desa Sarimekar who welcomed the aid well. BRI’s presence through the BRI Peduli programme is seen as not only providing material aid but also strengthening the sense of togetherness and social care in the midst of the community. For information, Desa Angseri is one of the 2023 BRILian Villages that received an award as the Village with the Best Governance thanks to the optimal management of water resources utilised for the benefit of the village community. The Desa BRILiaN programme itself is a village empowerment initiative initiated by BRI with the aim of creating role models in village development in Indonesia. This programme focuses on increasing village capacity, strengthening governance, and developing local economic potential. Through various social and empowerment programmes run, BRI hopes to continue providing real contributions in improving the quality of life of the community, while strengthening the values of togetherness and mutual cooperation amid Indonesia’s diversity.
