BPJS Kesehatan is striving to enhance the spirit of mutual cooperation for the sustainability of the government programme. This is expected to strengthen funding or the collection of BPJS contributions. One such effort involves appointing the President’s Special Envoy for Youth Development and Arts Workers, Raffi Ahmad, as the Honorary Ambassador for BPJS Kesehatan on Thursday (23/4/2026). The presence of this public figure as an ambassador is hoped to increase the spirit of mutual cooperation among BPJS Kesehatan participants. The CEO of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, stated that they are committed to implementing the National Health Insurance (JKN) programme sustainably. One way to ensure the programme runs sustainably is by strengthening funding or contribution collection. “In the JKN programme, we base our contribution collection on the spirit of mutual cooperation. Therefore, in our structural and cultural transformation, we prioritise strengthening the corporate identity of the agency by enhancing symbols of mutual cooperation,” she said at the BPJS Kesehatan Head Office on Thursday (23/4/2026). She noted that currently, BPJS Kesehatan participants across Indonesia have reached 284 million people. However, not all are active participants. Of the total participants, only around 79% are active. Therefore, there is still homework for BPJS Kesehatan to achieve 100% active participant coverage. According to Pujo, a nickname for Prihati Pujowaskito, one effort to recognise the JKN programme is appointing Raffi Ahmad as the first Honorary Ambassador for BPJS Kesehatan. This is because Raffi has a big name, especially among young people. “We are grateful and thank you for your willingness, and Mr Raffi Ahmad is the first Honorary Ambassador for BPJS Kesehatan. So, once again, as part of recognising mutual cooperation, the important message going forward is how we can enthusiastically increase the spirit and engage in mutual cooperation to maintain our own health and that of others,” she said. She also requested Raffi’s help in socialising healthy living patterns among young people. This is because, based on BPJS Kesehatan data, there has been an increase in hypertension and diabetes cases in the younger generation. “Therefore, we request your assistance in motivating the younger generation and the entire population to maintain health preventively and promotively, so that cases of hypertension and diabetes do not continue to rise rapidly,” she said. Meanwhile, Raffi expressed his gratitude for being trusted to become the Honorary Ambassador for BPJS Kesehatan. According to him, this appointment will be a noble task for him to spread healthy lifestyles among the younger generation. “Today, I have been given the role of Honorary Ambassador, I express my thanks. This is a noble task for me because I want to always spread ‘health’ to the younger generation,” he said. He believes that health is something that must be maintained from a young age. Therefore, he will encourage young people to start activities to stay healthy. “Living healthy must start from a young age, not after getting sick,” he said. Raffi added that he will endeavour to socialise the BPJS Kesehatan programme to the public, especially the younger generation. Moreover, President Prabowo Subianto has a concern for public health. “Especially what was mentioned by the CEO earlier about the spirit of mutual cooperation. With mutual cooperation, everyone is helped. In the JKN programme, everyone helps each other, assisting one another,” he said.
