To Boost Growth, Kadin Expands International Partnerships
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is pushing for stronger cooperation in investment, trade, and industry to accelerate national economic growth and strengthen Indonesia’s position amid global economic dynamics. This is being done through strengthening multilateral economic diplomacy and expanding international partnerships.
The Deputy Chairman of Kadin for Multilateral Diplomacy, Andi Anzhar Cakra Wijaya, said that cross-country economic cooperation is an important strategy in maintaining growth momentum while also opening up new market opportunities for national businesses.
“Kadin Indonesia prioritises an inclusive, sustainable, and mutually beneficial regional growth approach among partner countries, especially in ASEAN, the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and other strategic regions,” he said on Friday (15 May 2026).
Through multilateral economic diplomacy, Kadin seeks to strengthen connectivity between Indonesian businesses and international partners. This includes opening up market access, technology transfer, strengthening industrial supply chains, and increasing investment, which is expected to create added value for the national and regional economies.
“This approach aims not only to increase the volume of trade and investment but also to promote equitable regional economic growth, job creation, the development of downstream industries, and the improvement of human resource competitiveness,” he said.
Andi believes that regional stability and cross-country collaboration are key factors in creating a conducive economic ecosystem amid global geopolitical challenges.
Therefore, Kadin continues to encourage strategic dialogues, international business forums, and concrete partnerships that result in investment projects and industrial cooperation that have a direct impact on the community.
“In the future, Kadin Indonesia hopes that multilateral cooperation can be a key instrument in strengthening regional economic growth and expanding business opportunities for national industrial players,” he said.
Meanwhile, domestically, Danantara Indonesia, as a strategic shareholder in SOEs, is considered to need to consider the involvement of regional business figures, including the Chairmen of provincial Kadins who have adequate capacity, integrity, and business experience in the supervisory or management structure of certain SOEs. Their presence is expected to provide practical insights regarding the development of investment, trade, industrial downstreaming, and strengthening regional economic connectivity with the national development agenda.
